A Movement Flight, performed by New York City based and internationally renowned Schoen Movement Company, will bring dance out of the concert hall and into the brewery by featuring critically acclaimed dancers, including local dance talent, Kellie St. Pierre. Complemented by the tastiest Temblor brews, guests may additionally enjoy flights of beers and a delicious dinner. ABOUT SCHOEN MOVEMENT COMPANY:
Schoen Movement Company is a Brooklyn-based modern dance troupe that prioritizes dance as a method to connect people and enrich quality of life. They were recently named the Martha Duffy Resident Artist at Baryshnikov Arts Center for the prestigious BAC Space Residency. They are a three-time invitee to the famous Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Dance Festival, and have been presented at Jamaica Performing Arts Center, Joe’s Pub through DanceNOW, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, and Judson Memorial Church. In 2017, they resided in Tunisia to collaborate with local dancers, the performance of which was then featured in a livestream broadcast viewed by people in 38 countries. The collaboration continued and, in 2019, was further developed and presented in New York City.
Beyond the stage, SMC explores fresh avenues of dance performance. Their rollicking show “A Movement Flight” brings dance out of the concert hall and into active breweries.
SMC has received distinguished support from the US State Department, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Queens Council for the Arts, the Catskills Mountain Foundation, Brooklyn Academy of Music / Dance Motion USA, Jamaica Center for the Arts and Learning among others. Company director, Emily Schoen, has performed at the nation’s finest theaters, has toured internationally, and is a Dance Magazine “Top 25 to Watch” artist.
ABOUT KELLIE ST. PIERRE:
Born in Bakersfield, CA, Kellie St. Pierre is a dancer, choreographer, yoga instructor, and teaching artist based out of Los Angeles. She has toured five years with DIAVOLO | Architecture in Motion dance company and has set her own work on several universities, independent companies, and festivals. Through her work she strives to share human connection, personal growth, and artistic development. She also values and encourages practices that promote body strengthening, longevity, wellness through the teachings of yoga and injury prevention for dancers.
