Tableaux Vivant

French for living pictures, describes a group of costumed actors representing scenes from literature, arts, history, or everyday life on a stage. They are carefully posed, theatrically lit, and do not speak. Tableaux can vary in complexity and size, from theatrical troupes to stylish solos, historical or contemporary.

KDA’s Tableaux Vivant will feature two 10×10 screens to create shadow dancer vignettes on the main Farm to Table(aux) stage. Keeping within the theme of the Farm to Table(aux) “POP! Goes the Warhol”, dancers will creatively move in and out of the screen as shadowed dancers utilizing solo work, partnering, and props. A DAY OF SERVICE
The Children’s Dance Education and Outreach Event is a day of service dedicated to our community children. KDA understands that this event may conflict with dancer’s school commitments; however, KDA has created an official waiver allowing dancers to take the day off from school.
