Children’s Dance Education and Outreach Event PERFORMER INFORMATION
KDA needs your help in producing this event! We believe in providing dancers with special opportunities to perform in circumstances that are not always available, and the Children’s Dance Education and Outreach Event happens to be one of those special opportunities.
KDA is seeking dancers and dance organizations to provide performances (minimum 1 minute- maximum 3 minutes) and to assist the KDA Board of Directors with the children’s dance class. Solos, group numbers, diverse dances and techniques ranging from ballet to hip hop, cultural, folk, and social dances are all welcome to apply. There is no cost to YOU or YOUR organization, KDA simply asks for your volunteered time to make this event great!
Deadline to apply is Friday, November 3 at 10:00 PM.
APPLICATION WILL BE AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 1, 2017
A DAY OF SERVICE
The Children’s Dance Education and Outreach Event is a day of service dedicated to our community children. KDA understands that this event may conflict with dancer’s school commitments, however; KDA has created an official waiver allowing dancers to take the day off from school. KDA recommends making accommodations with school teachers and administrators to submit work early.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Kern Dance Alliance is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Children’s Dance Education and Outreach Day at the Fox Theater on Thursday, November 17, 2016. This special event benefits local children from the Bakersfield Homeless Center, CASA, Garden Pathways, Boys and Girls Club, and other organizations that serve socially economically disadvantaged children by providing them with afternoon of dance at one of Kern County’s most treasured theaters.
Sponsored by the Arts Council of Kern and the Fox Theater Foundation, the Children’s Dance Education and Outreach Event provides children with a live dance performance, dance class/choreography, and the opportunity to perform on the Fox stage. Additionally, children learn about the history of the Fox and are provided with snacks donated by Grimmway Farms.
