JUST DANCE: POP UP SERIES FOR ADULTS | SUMMER 2019

Hey, Kern County dance studios!  Did you know there is a large population of trained adult dancers yearning to take adult dance classes?  There are also MANY that want to try their first plié! KDA is regularly asked about adult dance instruction in Kern County and we want to help your dance studio reach adults. To keep in step with our mission, KDA will roll out a pop-up summer adult dance class series this summer!

WHY offer Just Dance: A Pop-Up Summer Series for Adults?

KDA strives to help our community thrive through physical movement. Where there is a need, we find a way! Local adults want a place to express themselves through dance, and we want to help!

WHAT is a Pop-Up Summer Series for Adults?

You may have heard of a pop-up restaurant or store that opens quickly in a temporary location and is intended to operate for only a short period of time.  The pop-up summer adult dance class series is meant to pop-up at different dance studios across Kern County!  One studio would offer one or two classes and then move on to the next studio for a new set of classes on a different day and time- providing adult dancers will the opportunity to visit a variety of locations all summer long!

Call to Dance Teachers and Studios

KDA is seeking dance teachers and studios to provide exciting dance classes ranging in all styles and levels for a pop-up adult dance classes series this summer!

Just Dance: A Pop-Up Summer Series for Adults Details:

Kern County Dance Studio Obligations:

• Dance studios will choose one date to offer their classes
• Dance studios will provide the location and dance studio to host 1-2 adult classes
• Dance studios will choose the type of class to offer
• Dance studios will provide the dance instructor to teach the class
• Dance instructor will stick to one style of dance and format of class as described in application

KDA Obligations:

• KDA will compensate the dance instructor
• KDA will market the event to the Kern County community
• KDA will manage RSVPs for the classes
• KDA will provide an exit survey to gauge the interest in offering consecutive adult dance classes for dance studio owners

Compensation:

KDA will pay dance instructors a $35 honorarium per class.

Classes will be offered for free to adults with a recommended donation to KDA.
